MWS AI launches Cowork agent for Russian office tasks

MOSCOW, Russia / Eurasian Newswire / – Russian technology company MWS AI has launched a universal AI agent designed to handle internal office tasks for businesses. The service, called MWS AI Cowork, can plan and carry out tasks on its own through a single chat window. MWS AI is part of MTS Web Services, the cloud and digital business of Russian telecoms group MTS. The company announced the launch on October 27.

The agent can search and analyse information, work with files, websites and connected applications, and create documents. It also produces spreadsheets, presentations and reports. Companies connect it once to corporate email, calendars, messengers, storage, document systems and CRM tools. Employees then sign in with their corporate accounts. The agent acts on behalf of each user and only within that person’s access rights. AI agents that carry out multi-step tasks are spreading across the technology industry.

MWS AI said the product is designed around Russian companies’ requirements for corporate data security and flexible AI infrastructure. It contrasted the service with Claude Cowork and ChatGPT Work. MWS AI Cowork can be deployed inside a closed corporate environment in Russia. It works with several AI models, including MWS AI’s own Cotype, models from Sber and Yandex, and open-source foreign models. MWS AI said this gives companies more control over where their data is processed.

    Shared skills set common standards

Users can create their own skills, which are instructions the agent follows to carry out common tasks. Saved skills can be shared with colleagues so that teams work to uniform standards. A monthly report skill, for example, can set out data sources, verification rules and the output format. The agent then follows the stored rules each time. The agent also remembers user preferences and task context, which users can view, edit and delete.

Ready-made skills cover preparing reports, comparing supplier offers, checking documents for gaps and drafting meeting minutes from transcripts. MWS AI expects employees to be able to hand up to 90% of repetitive office data tasks to the agent. Chief Executive Denis Filippov said the product gives companies a common foundation for using AI across departments. Firms can start with single tasks and expand to processes involving several teams.

Pilots show an hour saved each day

Pilot projects across MTS Web Services business units found that an active user relying on the agent for 90% of tasks saved at least an hour a day. The company valued that at about 263,000 roubles per employee per year. The estimate is based on a full employer cost of about 175,000 roubles a month and 247 working days. MWS AI said customers could recover their investment within months.

Tests at a company with 1,000 employees showed time savings of 40% to 50% when preparing a 10-slide presentation. Meeting minutes took 50% to 80% less time, and quarterly financial reports 30% to 50% less. An annual licence costs between 6 million and 20 million roubles in 2026, depending on configuration and users. Russia is also expanding AI use in logistics, including autonomous delivery robots.
